Getting started
Open the web chat, answer two or three short questions about the person and the occasion, and you'll get five gift picks with the reasoning behind each. No setup required to start.
/mcp connects Present Agent to Claude Code, Codex, or another MCP client so you can get picks from your terminal. /chat is the web conversation that profiles the recipient and returns picks. /browse is the store experience for exploring the catalog directly.
No. You can get recommendations without signing in. Signing in with Google saves your recipients, occasions, and feedback so the picks get better across sessions.
Only the basics: who the gift is for, the occasion, and a rough budget. The more context you add (interests, things to avoid, past gifts), the sharper the five picks — but a short answer is enough to begin.
Recommendations
It reads your context for the recipient and occasion, filters the catalog to products that genuinely fit, and then scores candidates for relationship fit, occasion fit, and budget. Each pick comes with a plain reason it fits the person.
A long grid pushes the decision back onto you. Five explainable options is enough to choose with confidence and few enough to actually compare. Quality and reasoning matter more than volume.
Yes. You can state a budget, things to avoid, and must-haves, and the agent respects them before scoring. Price and availability are confirmed at checkout, which is where final shipping and timing are shown.
Those answer "what can I buy?" Present Agent answers "what will this mean to them, from me?" It reasons about the relationship and the occasion, explains each pick, and remembers context for next time instead of starting over.
Personalization
When you're signed in, it remembers your recipients, their occasions, wishlists, notes, past gifts, and your feedback — so each new request builds on what it already knows rather than asking from scratch.
Yes, if you opt in. Google Calendar and Contacts are read-only and optional, and help surface upcoming occasions and the right people. Wishlists and prior gift history feed directly into the picks.
A thumbs up or down rates a specific pick as a quality signal. "More like this" and "less like this" plus your freeform notes steer the next round of recommendations toward what you actually want.
Yes. You can edit a recipient's details, adjust their relationship and interests, and leave notes. The agent uses your corrections on the next request, so a wrong assumption doesn't keep repeating.
Buying gifts
Every pick links to a product page on presentagent.vip. You stay on our site to view the product, then move to secure checkout from there.
We keep browsing and viewing on our own domain so the experience stays consistent and trustworthy. We never hand you off to an external retailer like Amazon or a brand's own site.
Checkout is handled securely on our Shopify storefront (store.presentagent.vip). It's the one place you cross domains, and only for PCI-compliant payment under the same brand.
Prices are shown in CAD. Final price, availability, shipping options, and return terms are confirmed at checkout and can vary by merchant — that's the authoritative source for what you'll actually pay and receive.
Privacy and trust
When you sign in, we store what's needed to make better picks: your recipients, occasions, wishlists, notes, past gifts, and feedback. Optional integrations are stored as read-only access you grant.
Yes. Your data is deletable and every integration is revocable from your account. Disconnecting Calendar, Contacts, or Gmail removes the associated signals.
No. We don't use sensitive categories to drive recommendations, and we filter sensitive context out of the signals the agent reasons over. Gmail access, where enabled, is metadata-only — we don't read full email bodies.
We never sell your data, never use sensitive categories to recommend, and never link you off to external retailers. Your recipient profiles stay private to you.
For developers
Present Agent ships as an MCP plugin for Claude Code and Codex. Once installed, you invoke it as /gift in your terminal to get the same five-pick recommendations you'd get on the web.
You can describe a recipient and occasion and get explainable picks, build and share wishlists, and reuse your saved recipient memory — all without leaving your editor or terminal.
Only the gift context you choose to pass to the tool is sent. The agent works from what you explicitly provide in the request; it doesn't scrape your local files or environment.
The agent beta suits developers who live in Claude Code or Codex and want gift help inline with their workflow. If you'd rather a guided conversation in the browser, the web chat is the simpler path.
